Dartmoor Discovery
The Dartmoor Discovery is a single-lap road ultra run that starts and finishes in Princetown on Dartmoor. The course measures 32 miles 899 yards and includes significant climbing on Dartmoor roads. There are 10 feeding stations on route, and personal drinks may be left at nine of those stations. Intermediate cut-off times were increased in 2024 and are set at 13.1 miles = 2:53, 20 miles = 4:15 and 26.2 miles = 5:30. The overall race cut-off is 6 hours 45 minutes.
Race headquarters is at Princetown Community Centre. The event has a field limit of 275 entries and has sold out in most recent years. Finishers who complete the course within the cut-off receive a bespoke DD medal and a technical t-shirt. The event provides free food at the finish, bag storage, a public address system, free race photos, a bar and an after-race disco.
Entries for the 2027 race open on 1 November 2026. The published entry prices move through defined windows from early-bird rates in November up to the final price in April or until entries close. Local accommodation and parking options are listed for the event, including motorhome pitches at Princetown Community Centre and camping, motorhome pitches and a bunkhouse at a nearby public house, both offered at a stated special price per night.
