The Treggy 7
The Treggy 7 is a 7 mile circular road race that starts in Launceston Town Square and finishes in the grounds of Launceston Castle. Registration is held beforehand in Launceston Town Hall. The event is organised by Launceston Road Runners and forms part of the Cornish Grand Prix series.
The route leaves town with the first mile downhill onto undulating rural roads. Runners reach a half mile climb into Tregadillett village, with the first water station at approximately 3.5 miles adjacent to Tregadillett Primary School. After leaving the village at about 4 miles, the final 3 miles are mainly downhill. A second water station is located at approximately 5.5 miles near the approach to the castle grounds.
Facilities mentioned for participants include cakes and hot drinks available in the Town Hall before and after the race, and toilets in the Town Hall, the Multi-Storey Car Park and the Castle Grounds at the finish. Awards are scheduled to take place in the Town Hall after the race. A bag drop is planned; specific details are to be confirmed.
