Dartmoor Volcano Race

The Dartmoor Volcano Race, run by OuterEdge Events, is a 10.5-mile trail race on southern Dartmoor, starting and finishing in the village of Scoriton on the edge of the moor. The route climbs over 550 metres of ascent to touch Ryder’s Hill, the area’s highest point, with the focal point being the Red Lake Volcano. It is a fully marked and marshaled course with a rugged, technical feel, and includes three river crossings, one clapper-bridge crossing, two bogs, a volcano ascent, and a long uphill start followed by a long downhill finish.

Bespoke finish medals and optional race T-shirts complete the event, which runs under UKA rules with Dartmoor National Park Authority permission. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
