Event details
Dartmoor in a Day takes place on 5 September 2026. It is a fully supported off-road challenge across Dartmoor with two distance options:
- 50 km (Ultra)
- 30 km (Challenge)
Entries include GPS tracker hire. Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance. Participant handbooks provide full information on mandatory and suggested kit. Maps and a GPX file are available for navigation; the organisers recommend using these alongside OL 28 Dartmoor (1:25,000) or BMC Dartmoor (1:40,000) maps.
Route and support
The route starts at Okehampton, passes through Postbridge and finishes at Ivybridge Community College. The 30 km option starts at Postbridge and follows the remainder of the 50 km route. The course is approximately 50 km (30 miles) and is almost entirely off road, traversing wild areas of open moor.
Checkpoints with refreshments will be at Postbridge and Combestone Tor. Qualified Mountain Leaders act as mobile marshals, assist with navigation and provide First Aid cover in remote areas. Transport back to the finish is available for those who do not complete the distance. Food, drink and a finishers memento are available at Ivybridge Community College. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
