About the race
The event on February 20, 2027, offers a paved, flat out-and-back course around Hains Point in Washington, DC (Ohio Dr SW, 20024). The routes run alongside the river and provide views of the Potomac River, the Wharf, and frequent plane sightings from National Airport. Walkers and strollers are welcome.
Distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The 5k is an out-and-back once and the 10k follows the same loop twice. The event is chip timed and finishers receive a finisher’s coin and a technical event shirt. Medal designs are revealed the Friday before the race. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before February 11; shirts ordered after that date are limited.
Points from these races count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series, and toward the Winter Series. The race benefits Team RWB DC. Live results are posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted to the organizer’s site the Monday after the race. A virtual race option is available for those unable to attend in person.
Course support includes water stations (five on the 10k at approximate mile markers 1, 2.1, 3.1, 4.1, and 5.2; two on the 5k at about miles 1 and 2.1) with Gatorade at some stations. Port-a-johns are provided near the start/finish. Packet pickup is available at Road Runner Sports in Arlington and at the event. The organizer operates races in a range of weather conditions and will notify registered participants of cancellations or major changes.
