Emancipation Day 5K
The event takes place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in historic Laurel, Maryland. It is the 13th annual edition. The beneficiary is the University of Maryland's Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology-Midtown, which serves children and adults with diabetes in Baltimore City and the surrounding region.
Participants can choose from three events:
- 5K Run or Walk
- Fun Walk
- Virtual 5K
Race packets are available near the start/finish line from 6:30 AM on the morning of the race. Parking is available at the same location. The event uses professional timing services.
Results are posted online immediately after the race. Awards are presented on-site for overall and age-group categories. Registration includes a custom race bib and a finisher's medal. The event is held rain or shine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
