Kentlands | Lakelands 5K

The Kentlands | Lakelands 5K is an annual community run and walk hosted by the Kentlands Community Foundation. In its 33rd year, the event takes place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, and registration is open.

The event includes a main 5K run and walk plus a Kids Fun Run and Tot Trot. It typically draws over 1,600 runners and walkers, more than 300 children in the youth events, and over 2,000 spectators and community members who attend the post-race festival. The festival features live music, food vendors, giveaways, and family-friendly activities.

A portion of race proceeds supports the Kentlands Community Foundation. The foundation uses net proceeds to sustain 14 year-round programs that advance arts, culture, education, environmental sustainability, and volunteerism in Gaithersburg.
