Event Overview
The 33rd Kentlands/Lakelands 5K Run/Walk takes place in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The event features a 5K run/walk course that winds through the Lakelands and Kentlands neighborhoods before finishing on Main Street.

Event Details
Registration for the 5K includes a Dri-Fit crew neck shirt available in men's, women's, and kid's sizes. The kids' fun runs offer a cotton t-shirt designed by a local child resident. Live entertainment from local bands is set up along the course. After the race, there is a Merchant's Expo area.
The event concludes with an awards ceremony. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers. There are also awards for many family team categories, such as Father/Son and Mother/Daughter teams, as well as age group awards.
Packet pickup occurs on Thursday and Friday before the event at Main Street Park and Pavilion, and on race day at the expo area on Main Street.
Beneficiaries
The event supports several community programs and charities, including the Kentlands Community Foundation, Mercy Health Clinic, the Dolores C. Swoyer Camp Scholarship Fund, Gaithersburg HELP, and the Maryland Senior Olympics. In 2025, over $25,500 was donated to local nonprofits.
