About the race
The Town of Hempstead Triathlon takes place on September 19, 2026 at Town Park at Point Lookout. The event is a short-course triathlon with separate swimming, cycling and running legs.

- 2 mile run
Registration options include standard and discounted rates for Town of Hempstead residents and veterans; a processing fee is included in advertised prices and total cost may vary with additional options or donations. Race entries include a shirt and a personalized bib when selected; bibs are personalized if registered three weeks in advance. There are no race day sign-ups. Shirts are distributed on race day on a first come, first serve basis. Spectators are welcome.
Participants must be 18 or older and able to complete the listed distances. Required equipment includes biking and running gear, a personal water bottle for the bike leg, and a CPSC or Snell approved helmet. All swimmers must wear a brightly colored swim cap. Wetsuits are permitted; flotation devices, swim fins and snorkels are not allowed.
Course distances are approximate. The biking and running courses are described as flat. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups from 18–24 through 65+.
