Main Street Mile - Farmingdale
The Main Street Mile in Farmingdale is a mile road race held on a USATF certified 1 mile course on Main Street. The event benefits the Companions In Courage Foundation, whose mission is to build "Lion’s Den" interactive playrooms in children’s hospitals across North America.
The event program includes multiple participation options: an elite field by application, an open one-mile race, a kids fun run, and a virtual mile. Entry options and fees vary by category; there is a separate event package that includes access to a post-race fundraiser at The Tap Room. The post-race fundraiser at The Tap Room includes one free post-race beer from Oyster Bay Brewery, a buffet lunch, soft drinks, a cash bar for other alcoholic beverages, a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, and live music. Donations from non-runners are accepted, and raffle tickets may be purchased in advance.
There is a fundraising track called TEAM COURAGE. Participants who raise $160 or more, individually or as part of a team, unlock the TEAM COURAGE experience and associated amenities. Elite athletes may submit performance resumes for consideration; approved elite entrants receive registration instructions for the elite field.
