Long Beach Robert C. McAvoy Labor Day 5 Mile Race : September 7, 2026
The 36th annual Robert C. McAvoy Labor Day 5 Mile Race is an in-person road race held on the Boardwalk at Laurelton Boulevard in Long Beach, New York. The course is an accurately measured five mile route that is USATF certified, with the start and finish located on Laurelton Boulevard and the boardwalk. Baby strollers are not permitted on the race course.
Registration requires agreement to non-refundable terms and a standard liability release attesting to fitness to compete. Fees shown include processing charges; a base entry example is $35.00 with additional processing resulting in a sample total of $38.98. Personalized bib numbers are available for registrations completed at least three weeks before race day. Bib numbers are sent by text or email prior to pickup and bib pickup is handled on race day by event staff. T-shirts are distributed to registrants at number pickup on the day of the race. Registered participants may access the beach for free by showing their race bib at the beach entrance.
Awards are given to the top male and female overall, the top wheelchair participant, and the top three male and female finishers in multiple age categories ranging from 14 and under through 80 and older.
