Mines of Spain 100 - Dubuque, IA
The Mines of Spain 100 is a trail ultramarathon held October 16, 2026 in Dubuque, Iowa, organized by Sun Trail Running. The event uses a marked loop of approximately 20 miles that starts and finishes at Louis Murphy Park and runs largely through the Mines of Spain Recreation Area and surrounding trails in the Mississippi River valley.
Course surfaces include dirt, grass and rock trails with a few short paved connectors at the beginning and end of each loop. The route passes viewpoints of the Mississippi River and traverses Horseshoe Bluff, prairies and hardwood forests. Trails vary from steep and technical sections to flat singletrack and rolling grassy segments.
