St. Vincent DePaul Run/Walk/Bike for the Poor
The event takes place on the Heritage Trail, a converted railroad bed that runs beside the Little Maquoketa River. The trail is described as easy and almost flat, winding under a tree-covered canopy with limestone bluffs on the river's opposite side. The venue for registration and event access is Heritage Pond on Rupp Hollow Road at the intersection with Highway 3 in Dubuque, Iowa.
Two timed running events use the same trail. Walking and biking are available as untimed participation options and can still qualify for prizes.

- 5 mile timed run
Entry for all events is $30. The event will award over $300 in prizes. Bikers who donate more than the $30 entry fee are eligible for prize(s). Organizers note the possibility of three bike routes: on the trail, on the trail toward Dubuque with a downtown loop, and a hilly route to Mud Lake and back.
The event is organized to raise funds for local assistance programs. In the previous 12 months St. Vincent DePaul in the Dubuque area reported spending more than $115,000 on rental assistance, more than $28,000 on utility assistance, and placing beds in over 210 households.
