Swiss Valley Trail Races - Peosta, Iowa
The event is a trail running race held at Swiss Valley Nature Preserve in Peosta, Iowa. The course includes creek crossings, steep inclines, and generally rugged terrain within the preserve. Three distance options are offered.
- 50K - six loops of the 5.2 mile course
- 25K - three loops of the 5.2 mile course
- 5.2 Miler - a single loop of the course
The course is an approximate 5.2 mile loop with about 875 feet of climb per loop. The race is part of the No Coast Trail Series. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Dimensional Brewing Company in downtown Dubuque and on race day at the Swiss Valley Nature Center. The Friday pickup period is listed from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Parking and camping are at Swiss Valley Park a short distance from the start/finish area. Free tent camping and free showers are available at the park and campground close to the racer pickup location. Free shuttle service runs between the parking/camping area and the start/finish area.
All proceeds benefit the Friends of Dubuque County Conservation. The event policy states that refunds are not guaranteed for cancellations beyond the organizer's control. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
