Swiss Valley Trail Races
The Swiss Valley Trail Races take place at Swiss Valley Nature Preserve in Peosta, IA on October 3, 2026. The event offers three distance options and uses an approximate loop course that highlights local terrain features such as creek crossings, steep inclines, and rugged trail surfaces.
Distances offered:
- 5.2 miles
- 25K (three loops)
- 50K (six loops)
The course is built on an approximate 5.2 mile loop with about 875 feet of climb per loop. Parking and camping are at Swiss Valley Park, which is a short walk from the start and finish area. Free tent camping and showers are available at the campground near the race facilities. Free shuttles will transport runners and spectators between the parking/campground area and the start/finish location.
Packet pickup is scheduled Friday evening at Dimensional Brewing Company in downtown Dubuque and race day pickup is available at the Swiss Valley Nature Center. Entry fees are listed in a range from $40.95 to $87.76 USD. All proceeds benefit the Friends of Dubuque County Conservation, which supports county parks and environmental education.
