Event
The Swiss Valley Trail Races take place at Swiss Valley Nature Preserve in Peosta, Iowa. The event offers the following distances:
- 50K
- 25K
- 5.2 Miler
Registration opens January 1, 2026. All proceeds benefit the Friends of Dubuque County Conservation. Free tent camping and showers are available at Swiss Valley Park and Campground.
Course and logistics
The trail run features creek crossings, steep inclines, and rugged terrain through the Dubuque County landscape. The course is an approximate 5.2 mile loop that climbs roughly 750 to 875 feet per loop. The 25k consists of three loops and the 50k consists of six loops. Parking is at Swiss Valley Park with shuttle service to the start/finish area. Packet pickup is available at Dimensional Brewing Company on the Friday before the race and at the Swiss Valley Nature Center on race day.
