About the Event
The Swiss Valley Trail Races take place on October 3, 2026, at the Swiss Valley Nature Preserve near Peosta, Iowa. The event features three distances run on a trail loop: 5.2 miles, 25K, and 50K. The approximate 5.2-mile loop has 875 feet of climb. The course includes creek crossings and rugged terrain.
Location and Logistics
The start and finish is at the Swiss Valley Nature Center on Swiss Valley Road. Parking and free tent camping are available at Swiss Valley Park and Campground, which is a short walk or shuttle ride from the start. Free shuttles will run from the parking and camping area, starting at 6:45 AM. Free showers are available for runners at the campground after the race.
Additional Information
Packet pickup is available on Friday, October 2nd, from 5-7 PM at Dimensional Brewing Company in Dubuque, or on race day starting at 6:30 AM at the nature center. All proceeds from the event benefit the Friends of Dubuque County Conservation. The race is part of the No Coast Trail Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
