Yorkshire 3 Peaks Trail Weekend
This is a guided trail running weekend based in Horton in Ribblesdale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Participants stay in the on-route bunkhouse in single-sex rooms, with rooms of no more than six people and on-site kitchen facilities. The itinerary covers group trail runs over two days and includes guided coaching, a complimentary training plan, and video and photos.
Distances included in the weekend:
- 24 mile (38.6 km) round trip, total ascent 1585 m (5200 ft)
- 10 km loop, 269 m (885 ft) elevation
On the main day the group will follow the Yorkshire Three Peaks route visiting Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, combining walking on the steeper sections with running on flats and descents. A shorter steady loop is scheduled for the following day along sections of the Pennine Way. All runs are led by a qualified trail running guide, mountain leader and coach, and the group will maintain a social pace.
The weekend notes rugged terrain and significant elevation; participants are recommended to have recent long-distance experience and be able to sustain roughly 10 min per mile pace on flat and downhill sections. Price is £260 per person, secured with a £100 non-refundable deposit; the remaining balance is due ten weeks before the event. Meals, snacks and transport are not included. The itinerary may change at short notice. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
