Yorkshire 3 Peaks 70/100km Ultra 2026
The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Ultra is an endurance event held in North Yorkshire, marking its 11th edition in 2026. The race takes place over classic limestone trails and through the local scenery of the region. The course is open to a range of participants, including those completing their first ultra-marathon and more experienced athletes.
The following distances are available:
- 70 km (2185 metres of total ascent)
- 100 km (3169 metres of total ascent)
The event starts and finishes at the Hawes Market House. The route follows the Cam Road, passing over the three peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough, and Pen-y-Ghent. Participants who finish the 70 km distance within 14 hours have the option to continue for an additional 30 km at no extra cost. This extension includes Great Shunner Fell and Thwaite, bringing the total distance to 100 km with a 24-hour total time limit.
The course utilizes established trails and features Ranger Safety Team support at the headquarters, road heads, and hilltop locations. Checkpoints at road heads provide water, soft drinks, and snacks. At the finish, participants receive a dinner and hot drinks, with breakfast provided on Sunday morning. Indoor resting space is available at the hall on Saturday night for runners who have finished their race.
Compulsory equipment is required for all participants, including a waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, base plate compass, physical maps, and a head torch with spare batteries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
