Yorkshire 3 Peaks 70/100km Ultra 2026
The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Ultra is an organized trail race based in Hawes, North Yorkshire, following classic limestone trails and the Cam Road. The main course covers the three peaks Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent, with a total distance of 70 km and total ascent of about 2185 metres. The start and finish are at Hawes Market House.
There is an optional extension that adds approximately 30 km and +984 metres ascent, routed from Hawes over Great Shunner Fell to Thwaite and back to Hawes to make a 100 km event. Runners who complete the 70 km within the event cutoff may continue onto the extra section; the extended 100 km entry also counts towards the Ranger Ultras Grand Slam Series.
The event provides Ranger Safety Team support at HQ, road heads and hill top locations. On-course provisions include water, soft drinks, sweet and savoury snacks and hot soup at road heads. Participants receive navigation course notes and a GPX file prior to the race. Indoor hall floor resting space is available for finished runners, and food is provided at the finish with breakfast the following morning. Finishers receive medals and results include place categories and age-group awards.
Entry is limited to 100 participants and the minimum age is 20. A minimum compulsory kit list is enforced; required items include waterproofs, map and compass, head torch with spare batteries, whistle, emergency bivvy and sufficient food and fluids.
