Yorkshire 3 Peaks 70/100km Ultra : 19 to 20 September 2026

The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Ultra is the original ultra-distance race around the three Yorkshire peaks, organised by Ranger Ultras. The 11th edition follows classic limestone trails and upland tracks in North Yorkshire, with start and finish at Hawes Market House. The main route takes in Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent.

Two route options are offered:

  • 70 km route: Whernside, Ingleborough, Pen-y-Ghent; total ascent about 2185 metres.
  • 100 km option: additional 30 km loop adding about 984 metres ascent for those who complete the 70 km within the event elapsed-time requirement.

Entries are limited to 120 and the minimum competitor age is 20. Ranger Safety Team support is provided at HQ, road heads and hill top locations. Road head water stops supply water, soft drinks, snacks and hot soup. Navigation notes and a GPX file are issued to entrants in advance. Indoor hall floor resting is available for racers after the 70 km finish; competitors should bring a sleeping mat and sleeping bag if they plan to use this facility. A post-race meal and Sunday breakfast are provided for racers returning to HQ. Finishers receive eco-coaster medals and results include overall and age category placings.

A compulsory minimum kit list is enforced; required items include map and compass, baseplate navigation compass, head torch with spare batteries, waterproofs, emergency bivvy, whistle, sufficient food and fluids, and appropriate mountain running footwear.
