Event Overview
The Yorkshire 3 Peaks 70/100km Ultra is the 11th edition of an ultra-distance trail running event. It starts and finishes at the Hawes Market House in North Yorkshire. The route follows trails including the Cam Road and ascends the three peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough, and Pen-y-Ghent.
Distances
- 70 km with 2185 metres of total ascent.
- 100 km option, adding a 30 km loop over Great Shunner Fell with an extra 984 metres of ascent.
Event Format
The event takes place from Saturday to Sunday. The 70 km race has a 14-hour cutoff. Participants who finish the 70 km distance by the cutoff have the option to continue onto the additional 30 km section at no extra cost, with a total 24-hour cutoff for the 100 km distance.
Event Details
Entry is limited to 120 participants. The organizer provides safety team support at the headquarters, road heads, and hill top locations. Water, soft drinks, and snacks are available at checkpoints. An indoor hall space for resting is available on Saturday night. Dinner, hot drinks, and a Sunday breakfast are provided for racers. Finishers receive medals, with places awarded for the fastest male and female in each distance and age categories.
Participant Requirements
The minimum age for entry is 20. A detailed compulsory kit list is required, including items like a backpack, waterproof jacket, map, compass, head torch, emergency bivvy bag, and mobile phone. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
