Event overview
The Yorkshire 3 Peaks 70/100km Ultra 2026 takes place on 19–20 September 2026 in Hawes, North Yorkshire. It is the 11th edition of this ultra-distance trail race organised by Ranger Ultras / Rangers Expeditions & Ultras. Entries are limited to 120 and the minimum age is 20 on the event date.
Race format and logistics
- 70 km : follows Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent via the Cam Road; total ascent 2185 metres.
- 100 km : optional extra section of about +30 km with +984 metres ascent, making a total of 100 km when added.
If a competitor completes the 70 km within 14 hours elapsed race time they may continue onto the additional 30 km; the 100 km course has a 24-hour elapsed time limit for Grand Slam qualification. Support includes Ranger Safety Team coverage at HQ, road heads and hill top locations, on-course water stops with drinks, snacks and hot soup, and indoor hall resting space at HQ. Course notes and a GPX file will be emailed to entrants.
Mandatory minimum kit is specified and includes a backpack, waterproof jacket with hood, warm layers, appropriate mountain/fell running footwear, hard copy OS-type map, base-plate compass, head torch with spare power, whistle, emergency bivvy bag, sufficient fluids and food, first aid, a fully charged mobile phone with standard UK SIM, and a litter bag.
