Yateley 10k Series Summer Races
The Yateley Road Race Series is an annual sequence of running events held in north-east Hampshire. The series typically features three road races taking place on the first Wednesday of June, July, and August. These events are organized by Sandhurst Joggers and utilize a course that passes through the local town area.
The events are based at Sean Devereux Park, which serves as the race village and the location for both the start and finish lines. The course consists of smooth stretches on roads that are closed to traffic during the event. The terrain is described as slightly undulating, providing a route through scenic surroundings. A strict cut-off time of 80 minutes is enforced for the 10 km distance to ensure participants complete the course safely before dark.
For younger participants, the event includes a dedicated junior run. The distances available are:
- 10 km
- 1.4 km (Junior run for ages 7 to 13)
The race village at Sean Devereux Park offers facilities for spectators and participants, with the Yateley Football Clubhouse providing food and beverages. The event relies on a large group of volunteers from organizations such as the Yateley Lions and local Scout groups. Proceeds from the series are used to support various local beneficiaries and charities. No parking is available directly at the venue on race days.
