Workington 5K Series Race 4
The event is a 5 km road race held at Workington Cricket Club, Earnest Valentine Ground, The Cloffocks, Workington, Great Britain. It is the fourth race in a summer 5 km series that includes races on 13 May, 10 June, 22 July and 19 August.
The course is officially measured and certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers and will follow ROUTE B. Race numbers are issued at registration, which takes place within the cricket club. Participants should note that there is no parking at the cricket club itself.
Race day information including a full course risk assessment, route maps, the race permit and the measurement certificate will be on display at the event headquarters in line with UK Athletics rules. A safety briefing takes place before the start. First aid provision will be available and the event will use a lead bike and a sweeper runner for on-course management.
Individual race prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers. Series points are allocated to all runners and prizes are presented at the end of the series for overall finishers in five year veteran age categories. Runners must complete three of the four races to qualify for overall series prizes. Results are provided by Timing Up North using chip timing.
