Workington 5K Series Race 4
This event takes place on Wednesday 19 August 2026 at Workington Cricket Club, Earnest Valentine Ground, The Cloffocks, Workington. There is no parking at the cricket club itself.
Race 4 is the final race in the Workington Summer 5K Series, a set of four 5 km races held on Wednesday 13 May, Wednesday 10 June, Wednesday 22 July and Wednesday 19 August. Entrants may sign up for one, several or all four races.
The course is officially measured and certified by the Association of UK Course Measurers and will follow Route B. A full course risk assessment, route maps, the race permit and the measurement certificate will be on display at the event headquarters on race day.
Registration takes place within the cricket club and race numbers are issued at registration. First aid provision will be provided by 1st Aid Associates. There will be a race safety briefing prior to the start, plus a lead bike and a sweeper runner.
Prizes are awarded after each race to the first three male and female finishers. Points are allocated across the series and overall prizes are presented at the end of the series in five year veteran age categories; runners must complete three out of the four races to qualify for overall series prizes. Results are recorded by Timing Up North using chip timing.
