Scafell Pike Trail Marathon
The Scafell Pike Trail Marathon is a trail race held on Sunday 23 August 2026 in Keswick, Cumbria. The route covers 44 Kilometres in a single lap on hilly, mountainous terrain and carries a 100-place entry limit.
The course begins at Lingholm. Registration and the finish are at Crow Park, Lake Road, Keswick. The route is marked from the start to Seathwaite. The mountain section that includes Seathwaite, Styhead, Scafell Pike, Esk Hause and the return to Seathwaite is unmarked; the route follows main trails but the ability to navigate this section is essential. Navigational devices are permitted and a GPX file will be available for download.
Participants must be 18 or older on race day. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. Organiser details are provided by Fellside Events Ltd.
Facilities at Race HQ include water points, toilets and baggage storage. There are no distance markers, no changing facilities and no showers. A coffee van will be on site selling hot and cold drinks and cakes. Competitors receive a bespoke medal and event photographs will be available. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and to first place in each age group. Entrants are advised to carry sufficient personal nutrition and drinks and to wear suitable clothing and footwear for mountain conditions.
