The Scafell Pike Trail Marathon takes place on 23 August 2026 in Keswick, Cumbria. The event is a single-lap trail race of 44 kilometres with a hilly profile. Entry is limited to 200 runners; remaining places were listed as 200. Entrants must be aged 18 or older on race day. The event is organised by Fellside Events Ltd and is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules (licence number pending).
Course, facilities and entry
The route runs through Borrowdale and includes a route over Scafell Pike. The course is marked from the start to Seathwaite and from Seathwaite back to the finish. The mountain section between Seathwaite, Styhead, Scafell Pike, Esk Hause and back to Seathwaite will be unmarked; navigational devices are permitted and a GPX file will be made available. The race headquarters and registration are at Crow Park, Lake Road, Keswick, CA12 5DJ. Facilities listed include water stations, toilets and a baggage store; there are no distance markers, changing facilities or showers. Entrants are advised to carry personal nutrition and appropriate clothing and footwear for mountain terrain and conditions. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and first in each age group. A bespoke medal will be given to each competitor and event photographs will be available to download. Affiliated entry fee is £52.00; unaffiliated entry fee is £54.00. An on-the-day entry was listed as available for an additional £3.00 if the event does not sell out.
