Event Overview
The Borrowdale Trail Half Marathon is a 21 km trail race held on Sunday 23 August 2026 in Keswick, Cumbria. The race takes place around the shores of Derwentwater and the surrounding fells.
The race is organised by Fellside Events Ltd. It is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. Participants must be 17 years or older on race day. The event is described as hilly, with one lap.
The entry fee is £32.00 for affiliated runners and £34.00 for unaffiliated runners. If the event does not sell out, entry on the day costs an additional £3.00. The stated entry limit is 100 runners.
Start, Finish and Race HQ
Race HQ and the finish area are at Crow Park, Lake Road, Keswick, CA12 5DJ. Registration takes place here.
The race starts at Lingholm, with the course leading back to the finish at Crow Park. The route is a single loop and is described as well marked, with no navigational skills required.
Course and Terrain
The course runs on the shores of Derwentwater and on nearby fells. It is a trail event with a hilly profile. It is not suitable for wheelchairs.
There are no distance markers on the course.

Facilities at the event include:

There are no changing facilities and no showers. A mobile coffee van will be on site selling hot and cold drinks and cakes.
