Borrowdale Trail Half Marathon
The Borrowdale Trail Half Marathon is a single-lap trail race around the shores of Derwentwater and the surrounding fells near Keswick, Cumbria. The course covers 21 kilometres, follows varied terrain and is described as hilly. The route will be well marked so no navigational skills are required.
Registration and the finish are at Crow Park, Lake Road, Keswick. The race starts at Lingholm. Event facilities at the race headquarters include water, toilets and baggage storage. A mobile coffee van will be on site selling hot and cold drinks and cakes. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no distance markers listed; the event is not suitable for wheelchairs.
Every competitor receives a bespoke medal and event photographs will be available for download. Prizes will be awarded to the first three finishers in the male and female categories and to first place in each age group category. The event is held under UK Athletics rules and a Trail Running Association licence is pending. Entrants must be aged 17 or older on race day. Entry is limited to 200 participants. Affiliated entry and unaffiliated entry fees are listed as £32.00 and £34.00 respectively, with on-the-day entry possible for an additional £3.00 if the event is not sold out.
