Winter Weavers' Ultras
The Winter Weavers' Ultras are long-distance running events held along the Weavers' Way, a trail that connects the Norfolk Broads to Cromer Pier. Participants can choose between two point-to-point distances that finish at the award-winning pier. The event takes place in November, meaning runners should prepare for winter weather conditions and the possibility of wet or muddy terrain.
The event offers two distinct distances:
- 100 km: Starting from Great Yarmouth-Broadland Rugby Club with a 19-hour time limit.
- 50 km: Starting from Stalham with a 10-hour time limit.
The course follows a well-marked trail, but participants must be capable of navigating using a GPX file as additional event signage is limited. The route is supported by several indoor checkpoints—five for the longer distance and three for the shorter distance—where food, drinks, and water are provided. Safety is managed through GPS tracking for all runners and first aid cover.
At the finish in Cromer, a recovery centre provides hot drinks and a light meal. All finishers receive a commemorative medal, and prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in the Female and Male/Open categories for both races. The event is open to runners aged 20 and older, with a total capacity limited to 150 participants. For those participating in the 50 km race, an optional coach transfer is available from Cromer to the start line in Stalham. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
