Winter Weavers' Ultras
The Winter Weavers' Ultras take place along the Weavers' Way, a trail that connects the Broads to the coast. This event offers participants a choice between two distances that finish at the seaside location of Cromer Pier. The routes follow a well-marked trail through Norfolk, though participants are required to use a GPX for navigation as additional event signage is limited. The course often features wet and muddy trails characteristic of the winter season.
The event provides two distinct starting points:
- 100 km: Starts from the Great Yarmouth-Broadland Rugby Club with a total time limit of 19 hours.
- 50 km: Starts from Stalham with a total time limit of 10 hours.
A coach transfer service is available for a fee to transport runners from Cromer to the 50 km start line in Stalham. Both start and finish locations have parking facilities nearby. The events are open to participants aged 20 or older, with a total capacity of 150 runners across both distances.
Participants have access to indoor checkpoints along the route—five for the longer distance and three for the shorter distance—which provide food and drinks. Additional water points are also located on the course. Upon reaching the finish at Cromer Pier, runners receive a medal and have access to a recovery centre providing a light meal and hot drinks. GPS tracking is provided for all participants for safety and monitoring purposes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
