Event overview
The 14th Annual Winter Lights 5K is a closed loop road race organized from the Pembroke Community Center in Pembroke, MA. The race follows the town tree lighting and takes place after that event. The course is run in the dark; participants are required to use headlamps or flashlights. Walkers are allowed and dogs are not permitted on the course. Race proceeds benefit the Pembroke Firehouse Pantry, which serves nearly 700 families and partners with the Greater Boston Food Bank, Stop & Shop, Panera, and Walmart. The Firehouse Pantry is a Massachusetts registered 501c3 organization (#001186919). The event lists 118 participants.
Logistics and registration
Bib pickup is held at the Pembroke Community Center (Room 127). Someone else may pick up a bib without a photo ID if they bring the registrant's confirmation. All race parking is at Pembroke High School, 80 Learning Lane, about 2 miles from the start; shuttle service runs between the parking area and the start before and after the race. There is no water stop on the course; runners should carry their own water. Water and snacks are available at the finish area. Awards are presented for overall 1st-3rd male and female and for male and female in age groups from 10 & under through 80+. Registration uses tiered pricing by date and by age category; registrants who register by the stated deadline receive a long sleeve tech shirt.
