The City of Champions Fire Tactics and 5K takes place on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Brockton, MA at 80 Perkins Avenue. The event combines a 5K run/walk with a classroom lecture titled "Coordinating Ventilation: Supporting Extinguishment & Survivability." The 5K starts and ends at Keating Hall, home of Brockton Firefighters Local 144. Participants may choose the 5K, the lecture, or a combination package. Published event fees are $40 for the 5K, $45 for the lecture, and $75 for the combination package. Registration for these events closes on April 11, 2026. Race divisions include top three male and female overall, a firefighter team challenge (three-person teams), a Brockton firefighter first-place award, and age-group awards for Under 15, 15-25, 26-40, 41-50, and 51-Over. Refreshments will be served inside the union hall at the bar, and pizza will be provided for lecture attendees. The first 50 registered entrants receive a free Fire Tactics and 5K T-shirt.
