Wings of the West Urban Ultra : June 13, 2026
The Wings of the West Urban Ultra is the second annual urban style ultramarathon in West Volusia County, Florida. The event is a point to point course that begins at Pioneer Settlement in Barberville and ends at Lyonia Environmental Center in Deltona. The finish location is listed at 2150 Eustace Ave., Deltona, FL 32725.
Runners navigate between public art wings painted by local artist Erica Group and receive a card with instructions at each checkpoint. New directions are issued at every checkpoint until the finish. The race is mostly self supported and all participants must carry their own hydration and nutrition. Organizers are coordinating with wing stops to provide water, ice, and possibly some snacks.
Relay teams are available for 2026. Each team is allowed one crew vehicle and only one runner may complete each leg. All runners must check in with the volunteer at each exchange point or the team will be disqualified. The organizer provides a suggested relay breakdown for four person teams and totals for two person teams.
All finishers receive a unique medal designed by the wing artist Erica Group.
