Wings of the West Urban Ultra - June 13, 2026
Wings of the West is an urban, point to point ultra run through West Volusia, Florida. The course begins at Pioneer Settlement in Barberville and finishes at Lyonia Environmental Center in Deltona. Runners follow a route that visits multiple sets of painted wings created by a local artist and may stop for photos at each set.
This event is mostly self supported. All participants must carry their own hydration and nutrition. Organizers are coordinating with each wing stop to provide water, ice, and possibly some snacks, but participants should not rely on full aid at checkpoints. The race uses instruction cards at each checkpoint to guide participants to the next set of wings.
Transportation is the responsibility of each participant. Competitors must provide their own travel to the start location and their own pickup from the finish; the event does not provide transportation except for medical emergencies.
New for 2026, the event includes team relay options alongside the solo distance. All finishers receive a unique medal created by the wing artist.
