Wings of the West Urban Ultra - Deltona, FL (June 13, 2026)
The Wings of the West Urban Ultra is the second annual point to point urban ultramarathon through West Volusia. The route begins at Pioneer Settlement in Barberville and finishes at Lyonia Environmental Center in Deltona. Runners follow a mural trail and navigate between painted wing installations created by a local artist.
The event is mostly self supported. All participants must carry their own hydration and nutrition. Organizers are coordinating with each wing stop to provide water, ice, and possibly some snacks. At each checkpoint runners receive a card or instructions on how to reach the next set of wings until they arrive at the finish line. Participants are expected to take a photo at each wing location as part of the course.
This edition introduces relay options for teams. Distances and formats offered:
- 55K
- 2 person relay
- 4 person relay
The race is point to point and participants must provide their own transportation to the start and pickup at the finish; event transportation is not provided except for medical emergencies. All finishers receive a unique medal designed by the wing artist. Local supporters and sponsors are listed by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
