Wild Horse @ Night
Based at the car park at the foot of Wild Horse Mountain, Wild Horse @ Night is a night trail event staged since 2004 in the Queensland autumn. The course runs along the Glasshouse 100 Eastern Section and was originally organised to provide training on a section commonly used after dark.
The surface varies and includes pine forest trail, grass, gravel, sand and compact dirt. Course maps and directions will be published and downloadable in common formats so participants can carry a map on race day.
The event on Saturday July 18th 2026 offers three distance options with listed entry fees: half marathon ($132.40), 15 km ($110.10) and 10 km ($89.50).
Mandatory items include a headlamp, a water bottle, access to a map of the course (mobile device or printed), and a mobile phone. Participants are also expected to familiarise themselves with the course map and directions before the event. Organisers may perform spot checks on course to confirm mandatory kit compliance.
Recommended items include insect repellent, bite and sting treatment, a compression bandage and an emergency whistle. The event is presented as a practical night-run setting for participants who want experience using night gear. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
