Trail Run Australia : Sunshine Coast (30–31 May 2026)
Trail Run Australia Sunshine Coast is a 24-hour trail running festival held at Ewen Maddock Dam in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Participants run a 5.0 km lap each hour with 59:59 to complete each lap; there are no eliminations and final placings are by total laps and overall time. The course mixes singletrack and fire trail with an elevation change of about +99 m and -99 m per lap.
Distance options include:
- 24hr Solo : 120 km (24 laps)
- 10hr Ultra : 50 km (10 laps)
- 5hr Challenge : 25 km (5 laps)
- 5 km Finale : 5 km (single lap)
Entries are available for solo runners, pairs, teams of four or six, and family teams. Race HQ operates as a vehicle-free, tent-friendly basecamp with food, music, stalls and an aid station offering water and quick snacks. Catering is provided by SMEAC and proceeds support their veteran services.
Safety and equipment requirements are specified for runners. Compulsory items include enclosed running shoes, a 500 ml water bottle, race number with timing chip and a torch for overnight laps. A free Kids Mud Rats run for ages 5 to 9 is organised around Race HQ. First aid and course marshals are present and competitors are expected to follow event rules and safety instructions.
