Trail Run Australia Sunshine Coast 24 Hour Trail Run
Trail Run Australia Sunshine Coast is a multiformat trail running festival on the Queensland Labour Day long weekend, held at Camp SMEAC beside Ewen Maddock Dam in Landsborough on 2–3 May 2027.
The event uses a single scenic 5.0 km lap through fern filled rainforest, single track and flowing fire trail. Per lap elevation gain is +99 m and loss is -99 m, with course high and low points of 61 m and 30 m respectively. Terrain per lap is approximately 3.99 km single track and 0.91 km fire trail.
Available formats and categories include:
- 24HR: Solo, Pairs, 4 Person Teams, 6 Person Teams
- 10HR: Solo, Pairs, 4 Person Teams (offered as 5hr + 5hr or 10hr straight)
- 5HR: Solo, Pairs, Family Team up to 5 runners
- 5km Finale: Solo
The event operates on an hourly lap structure where each lap must be completed within the allowable time to count. Compulsory equipment includes enclosed running shoes, a 500 ml water bottle, race number with timing chip and a torch for overnight laps. Race HQ is a vehicle free but tent friendly zone; no fires or personal cooking equipment are permitted on site. Catering and event support are provided by SMEAC with proceeds supporting veteran services. The weekend also features optional Wildcard Laps, a Wheel of Destiny that can change loop direction, and The Twenty Four recognition for athletes who complete all 24 laps.
