Event Overview

Beerwah At Night is a trail running event that takes place in the dark around the base of Mount Beerwah in the Glass House Mountains National Park on the Sunshine Coast. It is described as a popular event that kicks off the trail-running season in Queensland, allowing participants to run in the cool of night.

Race Details

The event consists of three race distances:

  • Marathon (42.2 km) - The course is two laps of the half marathon route, with the first lap run anti-clockwise and the second clockwise. The total elevation gain is 1,172 m.
  • Half Marathon (21.1 km) - The course has an elevation gain of 586 m.
  • 10 km - The course has an elevation gain of 294 m.

There are minimum age limits for participation: 12 years for the 10 km, 15 years for the Half Marathon, and 18 years for the Marathon. Participants under 18 require a parent or guardian to be present.

Event Information

The course is marked with reflective orange flagging tape approximately every 250 meters and red directional arrows on a white background at intersections. Red crosses indicate incorrect paths. Participants must carry a headlamp or torch.

All checkpoints provide water, electrolyte, and a small variety of food, but no disposable cups are supplied. Participants are required to carry their own cup or bottle. Mandatory gear includes a mobile phone with emergency contact numbers saved, a race bib, a water bottle or hydration pack with a minimum 500 ml capacity, a compression bandage, and a headlight. Marathon participants have access to a drop bag zone near the start/finish.

The event does not allow support crews on the course; they are permitted only at the start/finish area. Spectators are welcome at the start/finish area, which is the only location to view runners.

Entries close several days before the event, and no entries are accepted on the day. Refunds are available until a specified date, subject to an administrative fee. All finishers receive an event memento. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
