Event Overview
The Wicked Wine Run is a running event at La Viña Winery in La Union, New Mexico. The winery has been operating for over 45 years. The event offers two distances: a 5K run/walk and a 1K tasting walk. Both take place on the winery grounds.
Course and Features
For the 5K, participants receive a full wine glass at the finish line. The course has two water stations. For the 1K, participants can sample wines at three stations along the course and a fourth at the finish line. Both distances provide a wine glass for tasting. Spectators can purchase a separate tasting-only ticket at the event.
Schedule and Logistics
The event takes place on Saturday, April 4, 2026. Gates and packet pickup open at 12:30 PM. The 5K starts at 2:30 PM, with a 90-minute time limit. The 1K walk begins at 4:30 PM. The entire event ends at 6:30 PM. Parking at the venue may cost up to $20 per vehicle.

A 1K ticket includes an event bib, a 2026 event shirt, four 1-ounce wine tastings (three on course, one at finish), a wine glass, and access to the after-party. A 5K ticket includes an event bib, a 2026 event shirt, a 2026 finisher medal, a full wine glass at the finish line, and after-party access. The after-party features music, food for purchase, games, and costume and dance contests with prizes.
Registration and Requirements
All participants and spectators must be 21 years of age or older. ID verification is required at packet pickup or on race day. Packet pickup details are posted two weeks before the event. Race-day packet pickup is available for a $5 fee. A packet mailing option is available for a $20 fee until two weeks prior to the event.
