Walsh Lake Triathlon
Walsh Lake Triathlon at Walsh Lake Park in Fort Worth, Texas takes place on September 13, 2026. The event offers two race formats that combine a lake swim, a bike course with loops, and a road run.
- Sprint: 500-meter lake swim, 12-mile bike (2 loops), 5K run
- My First Super Sprint: 200-meter lake swim, 6-mile bike (1 loop), 2 mile run
The event is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and USAT rules are enforced; athletes must hold an annual membership or purchase a one-day license for the race. Minimum age to participate is 13. Participants must bring their own bike and helmets are required. Body marking is required before entering the transition area and only participants and event staff may enter transition. Bikes are racked when the transition area opens and may not be removed until protocols for checkout are complete. Chip timing is used; each participant receives a timing chip assigned to their bib.
Cutoff times are specified for each leg: swim 25 minutes, bike 90 minutes, run 60 minutes, and the total time for all three legs must not exceed 3 hours. Packet pickup requires photo ID; others may pick up a packet with the athlete’s ID and written authorization. All finishers receive a finisher medal; a race tee is provided to participants.
