Walsh Lake Triathlon
The event takes place on September 13, 2026 at Walsh Lake Park, 2401 Longspur, Fort Worth, TX. It is a USA Triathlon sanctioned race that follows USAT rules and requires either an annual USAT membership or a one-day license for participation.
Race formats include:
- Sprint: 500 m swim; 12 mi bike (2 loops); 5 km run
- My First Super Sprint: 200 m swim; 6 mi bike (1 loop); 2 mi run
Cutoff times are set for each leg: swim 25 minutes, bike 90 minutes, run 60 minutes, and a total event time limit of three hours. Chip timing is used; participants are assigned timing chips and must wear them to be included in results.
Transition procedures require athletes to be body marked before entering the transition area, and only participants and event staff are allowed inside. Packet pickup requires photo ID; an authorized person may pick up packets for others if they present ID copies and written verification, with a limit of four packets per person per visit. There is no race day registration and no refunds or transfers.
Awards include age group prizes (three deep), Top Overall, Masters, Grand Masters, weight class awards three deep, and relay awards for the top three. All finishers receive a finisher medal and the event provides a race tee. A virtual race option exists; virtual participants receive the tee and medal by mail. Volunteers support race operations.
