Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot
The Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot is an annual Thanksgiving Day running event held at General Worth Square on November 26, 2026. The event offers options to run, jog or walk and presents a family friendly atmosphere where strollers and dogs are permitted.
Distances offered include:
- 5K race
- 8K race
- 1K Gobbler Trot for children
All proceeds from the event support scholarships for families in the local community; 100 percent of proceeds are directed to those scholarships. The event is presented by Texas Health with support from Moritz, and more than 300 volunteers assist with the event each year.
Finisher recognitions are provided for early finishers: the first 10,000 5K finishers receive a commemorative medal, the first 2,000 8K finishers receive a commemorative medal, and the first 1,000 children in the Gobbler Trot receive a finisher award. Race packet pick up times and parking information are to be announced. The event is planned to proceed in ordinary weather conditions; only severe lightning will delay the event.
