Run With The Turkeys Trot
The Run With The Turkeys Trot is an annual community event held in Keller, Texas, on Thanksgiving Day. The race starts at Keller Town Hall and offers participants the choice between several distance formats and timing options. Strollers are permitted on the course, and leashed dogs are also welcome to attend.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- 5k Timed race
- 5k Untimed race
- 10k Timed race
- 5k Virtual race
- 10k Virtual race
The event serves as a benefit for the Community Storehouse, supporting children in the Keller and Northwest Independent School Districts. Attendees are encouraged to bring two to three non-perishable food items on the day of the race to address local food insecurity.
Registered participants receive a long-sleeve unisex race shirt, available in both adult and child sizes, and a commemorative finishers medal. For those competing in the timed events, awards are presented to the top three finishers in various age categories, ranging from 14 and under to 80 and over. Separate awards are also designated for overall, masters, and grand masters winners for both male and female categories. Results for the timed portions can be accessed via a mobile application.
A post-race gathering features fresh pancakes for participants. In the event of inclement weather, the race director may delay the start or alter the course to ensure participant safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
