About the race
The Voet of the Wine Route is a road running event at Zevenwacht Mall in Kuils River, Cape Town, offering three distances:
- 21.1 km
- 10 km
- 5 km Fun Run & Walk
All races start and finish at Zevenwacht Mall, located at the corner of Polkadraai and Van Riebeeck Roads. Parking is available on site and will be managed by traffic officers and marshals; attendees will be directed into the mall parking area from several approach roads. On arrival participants can expect marshals, fenced parking bays, a prayer room, mall toilets, and bag storage near registration.
Entries are available online and include a small online service fee for some categories. Race packs are collected at Zevenwacht Mall on the days before the event and on the morning of the event. The event is timed; finishers receive a medal and an SMS with their results, and results will also be published on the WPA website.
Refreshment stations are placed every 3 to 4 km on the 21.1 km and 10 km routes, and there is one station on the 5 km route; Coca Cola will be served in cups and water in sachets. Goody bags are allocated to the first finishers in each distance, and prize money is offered across age categories and team entries. The event supports local charities.
