About the race
The Rohan 245 Trail Classic is a fundraising trail running event held on 24 September 2026 at De Grendel Wine Estate in the Durbanville Wine Valley. The event benefits the Rohan Bloom Foundation, which is developing a paediatric palliative care in-patient hospice in Cape Town and provides family support for children with cancer and life-limiting illnesses.
The event offers three marked routes that commemorate three individuals:
- 18 km Rohan Bloom route
- 10 km Jaime Rose Whitesman route
- 5 km Hunter Emms route
Route files and GPX downloads are provided for each distance. Participants receive a finisher’s medal and podium prizes are awarded to top finishers; podium and lucky-draw prizes must be collected in person at prize giving. The event notes a contribution to the Rohan Bloom Foundation as part of entry.
Discovery Vitality members earn points for completing each distance: 1500 points for the 18 km, 600 points for the 10 km, and 300 points for the 5 km. On-site vendors include Circle Cafe and Woodstock Food Truck. Parking is provided on a grass section next to the dam; participants are asked to follow marshals’ instructions.
The event operates a FlexiPass add-on with substitution and refund options subject to specified deadlines. Late entries may incur a fee and may not qualify for medals or prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
