Event overview

The Virginia Run for Cancer is a 24-hour endurance event held in Hampton, VA at 1255 Big Bethel Road. The event features both 24-hour solo and 24-hour team entries. Registration is $75 for individuals and team members, and the field is limited to 200 entrants. Walkers are explicitly welcome. Pacers are allowed after dark.

Course, awards and logistics

The course is a flat, all-dirt nature park loop of 3.75 miles and is USATF certified (VA12075RT). Volunteer lap counters are provided. Technical T-shirts are supplied to all entrants. Wooden plaques are awarded to runners who complete the following distances:

  • 50 miles
  • 62.5 miles
  • 75 miles
  • 100 miles
  • 125 miles

Special engraved plaques are given to 1st place male, 1st place female, top team, and top fundraiser. Recorded course bests listed are 135 miles (male), 131 miles (female), and 1052.75 miles (team). Returnees can earn 500-Mile Club jackets and 1000-mile buckles. On-site liquid refreshments are provided; participants are expected to provide their own food and hydration.
