Virginia Run for Cancer
Virginia Run for Cancer is a 24-hour running event in Hampton, VA scheduled for April 24, 2027. The event offers both individual and team competition in 24HR SOLO and 24HR TEAM formats and is limited to 200 entrants. Registration opens January 1, 2027 and the entry fee is $75 for both individual and team participants.
The course is a flat 3.75 mile all-dirt loop through a nature park and is USATF certified under code VA12075RT. Pacers are allowed after dark. Volunteer lap counters are provided and walkers are included among participants.
Awards include engraved plaques for first place male, first place female, first place team, and top fundraiser. Wooden plaques are awarded to runners who complete specific mileage thresholds and technical event T-shirts are provided to all entrants. Historic course records are listed as 135 miles for male, 131 miles for female, and 1052.75 miles for team. Longterm returnees may qualify for 500-Mile Club jackets and 1000-mile buckles.
On-site liquid refreshments will be available. Runners are expected to provide their own food and hydration; pizza may be provided for dinner. The event reports a lifetime total of $310,000 raised for the American Cancer Society. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
