Virginia Run for Cancer : April 25, 2026
The Virginia Run for Cancer is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 1255 Big Bethel Road in Hampton, VA. The event is a timed endurance event with 24-hour solo and 24-hour team options. Registration opens January 1, 2026, the fee is $75, and the field is limited to 200 entries.
Course and race format
The event uses a flat 3.75 mile all-dirt nature park loop that is USATF certified (VA12075RT). Volunteer lap counters are provided. Walkers are welcome. Pacers are allowed after dark. On-site liquid refreshments will be available; participants are asked to provide their own food and hydration. Pizza may be provided for dinner.
Awards, milestones and fundraising
Awards include engraved plaques for 1st place male, female, team, and top fundraiser. Wooden plaques are given to runners who complete 50, 62.5, 75, 100, or 125 miles. Course records listed are Male: 135 miles, Female: 131 miles, Team: 1052.75 miles. Returning participants can earn 500-Mile Club jackets and 1000-mile buckles. The event reports a lifetime total of $310,000 raised for the American Cancer Society.
Teams register by noting their team and team captain during registration; the team with the highest total miles receives its name on a perpetuity plaque. Deferred entries from 2025 may be applied by contacting the event organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
