Glowing Gobbler 5K : event overview
The Glowing Gobbler is an evening 5K road race on November 26, 2025, held at Newport News Park at Deer Run in Newport News, VA (901 Clubhouse Way). The course starts on Clubhouse Way, runs toward the park front gate on Constitution Way, then makes a u-turn and returns to finish at the Deer Run golf course clubhouse. The route passes through the park’s Celebration in Lights and is open to runners and walkers; strollers are allowed. Pets are not permitted on course or the post-race field, except for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) service animals. Runners using ADA service animals will be placed in the last corral behind individual runners for safety.
Logistics and race details
All participants receive chip timing and results, a glow-in-the-dark finisher medal, a race shirt, and a ticket to the Celebration in Lights. Packet pick-up is available the day before at Point 2 Running Company (12080 Jefferson Ave., Ste 910, Newport News) and on race day at Newport News Park (901 Clubhouse Way). Gear check will be available at the start line and moved to the finish area for pickup. Parking is at Woodside High School (13450 Woodside Ln), about a 1/4 mile walk to the start. Awards for the top three male and female runners are presented on-site at the Deer Run golf course clubhouse. Entry fees are non-refundable and race numbers are not transferable.
