Girls on the Run Hampton Roads 5K
The Girls on the Run Hampton Roads 5K is an end-of-season celebratory 5K held on Sunday, November 22, 2026 at The Mariners' Museum in Newport News, VA. The event marks the close of the program season and is intended to give participants a tangible sense of accomplishment by completing the 3.1 mile course.
Registered participants who complete the 5K receive a medal, t-shirt, tote bag, and branded bandana. Registration pricing is listed in two tiers: an early registration fee of $40 that guarantees shirt size and a custom bib, and a late registration fee of $45 that offers shirt sizes on a first-come first-serve basis and a fill-in-the-blank bib. Program girls and coaches are already registered for the 5K and will pick up bibs at their team meet-up signs on the morning of the event.
The event emphasizes participant safety and accessibility. Every participant must wear a 5K bib, and the council assigns each girl a 5K buddy who must be at least 16 years old.
