Event Overview
The Veterans 5K Run & Walk is an annual community sports event organized by the Westchester Park District. Held at Mayfair Park in Westchester, Illinois, the event serves as a tribute to active and retired military service members. Logistics and Participation
The event provides multiple opportunities for packet pick-up at the Mayfair Recreation Center in the days leading up to the race, as well as on-site registration on the morning of the event. Recognition is given to the top three overall male and top three overall female finishers in the competitive categories.
In addition to the athletic events, a Salute to Veterans Brunch is held at the Mayfair Banquet Center following the races. This buffet-style meal is provided for veterans and their immediate families, with a requirement for advance registration to manage capacity.
