Fancy Nonsense 25k/50k
The Fancy Nonsense event on October 24, 2026 takes place in Willow Springs, IL and will be held at Deer Grove Forest Preserve for 2026 due to trail work at Palos Forest Preserve. The organizer is Cussing Runner. Distances offered include:

The course is a 5.5 mile loop run repeatedly until competitors reach their chosen distance. It is described as mostly single track and entirely runnable. Aid stations are placed along the course: two for the 25k and five for the 50k. Stations will provide water, soda, snacks, doughnuts, and additional items; runners may notify the organizer about food allergies or special requests.
Crews may access runners only at aid stations. Pacers are not allowed. The event offers cash prizes for top finishers in the men's, women's, and non-binary divisions with first, second, and third place payouts of $400, $200, and $100 respectively. A race cut-off time will be enforced. Packet pickup will take place at Deer Grove West.
The event is presented as a grassroots production with minimal infrastructure. The organizer maintains policies to support inclusion: entries for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ athletes are available while funds last, and the event accepts each entrant's declared gender without additional proof.
