The event is sanctioned by USATF and conforms to its Safe Sport policies, including the Minor Athlete Abuse Protection Policies (MAAPP). It is also Trail Sisters Approved, meeting standards for inclusivity, and is a Youth Certified Trail Race in partnership with the American Trail Running Association (ATRA), offering discounted registration for runners 18 and younger.

Distances & Schedule

The event offers three race distances: a 50K, a 20 Miler, and a 10 Miler. Registration closes two days before the event. Day-of-race registration is available, starting with the 50K distance. A team competition is introduced, with categories for Female, Male, and Mixed teams of three.

Course & Terrain

All races start and finish at the Gateway Trail system near SW 178th and 103rd SW on Vashon Island. The course is not closed to the public; runners share trails with equestrians, pedestrians, and bicyclists on public and private land. The terrain consists of rolling park trails, including single track, double track, dirt roads, gravel driveways, grass shoulders, and short paved sections. There are roots, logs, and steep hills, with about 770 feet of elevation change per loop. The course is clearly marked.

Amenities & Logistics

Camping is available on Friday night in the start/finish area grass field, with porta-potties and water. Participants must email to confirm camping plans. The race is only accessible by Washington State Ferry; carpooling and planning ahead for ferry schedules is strongly recommended. Drop bags are allowed at the start/finish and at Aid Station 1.

Aid stations are located at miles 6 and 10 (the start/finish). They provide water, soda, Tailwind, salt, potato chips, watermelon, cantaloupe, PB&J sandwiches, oranges, bananas, energy gels, stroop waffles, and other snacks. Menstrual products are available at aid stations.

Post-race food and refreshments are provided. Live results tracking is available through UltraSignup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
