One Step Closer - Lincoln Park, Seattle
One Step Closer is a timed endurance event held on August 14, 2027 at Lincoln Park in Seattle, Washington. Events take place on a repeated loop and include these options:
- 18 Hour
- 12 Hour
- 6 Hour
- 3 Hour
- Kid's Loopy 30 Minute
The course is an about two mile loop that mixes paved paths, packed gravel and single-track trail. The first mile runs along the Puget Sound shoreline, passes Bruun Idun the troll, and includes waterfront views and wildlife sightings. The second mile climbs a short single-track into the upper park, then winds beneath evergreens and ferns before returning to the start/finish area. Runners complete as many laps as they can in their chosen time category.
Aid and race support are provided on course. The start/finish area doubles as an aid and festival zone with music, rotating snacks, a loop tally station and activities. A volunteer aid station is located near the waterfront one mile into the loop and offers water and Otter Pops during the warmest hours. Water and Tailwind Endurance Fuel are available throughout the event. One Step Closer is cupless; participants are asked to bring a handheld or reusable cup. Free gear check is available; participants should bring their own bag for items.
Awards are presented to the top three male, female and non-binary finishers in each time category. The event benefits SR3 and the Trail Mix Fund, which also offers complimentary entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
