Ute 100 Mile & 50 Mile
The Ute 100 takes place in the La Sal Mountains, Utah on August 8-9, 2026. The event is staged as a single-loop mountain course that circumnavigates the La Sals and offers three distance options.
- 100 mile
- 50 mile
- 50K
The 100 mile course is described with an average elevation above 8,700 feet and roughly 24,000 feet of elevation gain. The route includes runnable singletrack such as the Porcupine sections, high alpine scree above tree line on Manns Peak (listed at 12,272 feet), and a mix of dirt roads and technical descents. The 50 mile option is one loop of the 100 course and the 50K follows the established shorter route.
Aid stations are regularly placed along the course and are stocked with Tailwind, Muir Energy Gels, fruit, baked goods and a variety of warm food options including bacon, quesadillas and potatoes. Several aid stations accept drop bags and some are crew accessible.
Logistics note that the start and finish are located off La Sal Loop Road near the junction with Miners Basin Road. The drive from Moab to the start area is about 30 miles and takes roughly 50 minutes. Camping options near the course include Mason Draw Campground and Warner Lake campground, with dispersed camping available throughout the La Sals.
Pacer and crew policies allow pacers on the 100 beginning near mile 42 and on the 50 as early as the second pass through Upper Porcupine; pacers must sign waivers at crew accessible aid stations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
