Event overview

The Ute 100 takes place in the La Sal Mountains, Utah, on August 8-9, 2026. The event offers a single-loop layout that circumnavigates the La Sals and includes three distance options:

  • 100 mile
  • 50 mile
  • 50k

The 100 mile course has an average elevation above 8,700 ft and about 24,000 ft of cumulative elevation gain. The course reaches a high point on Manns Peak at 12,272 ft. The route includes singletrack, scree above tree-line, forested sections, dirt roads, and multiple river crossings.

Course support and logistics

Multiple aid stations are located along the course. Aid stations are described as well stocked with items such as Tailwind, Muir Energy gels, fruit, sweet and salty snacks, and warm food options including bacon and quesadillas. Several aid stations accept drop bags and are crew accessible. If lightning is present, runners will bypass Manns Peak via the Burro Pass trail.

Parking and the start/finish area are located off La Sal Loop Road near the junction of Miners Basin Road. The drive from Moab to the start/finish is about 30 miles and roughly a 50 minute drive. Camping options near the course include Mason Draw Campground (about 1 mile from the start; five first-come/first-serve sites, $10/night) and Warner Lake campground (about 11 miles away at 9,400 ft; 19 sites). Pacer and crew policies permit pacers at specified crew-accessible aid stations; pacers must sign a waiver before pacing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
