Canyonlands Ultra
Canyonlands Ultra is a fall trail running event in Moab, Utah, presented as part of the Run Moab Series. The event offers multiple distances from 15K up to 100K and is scheduled for October 24, 2026. Beginning in 2025, it serves as the kickoff race for the Triple Crown of Moab series.
The courses use Moab trails with varied surface types, including sandy washes and technical double track. Route descriptions note views of the La Sals, sandstone domes, and surrounding canyons. Course elevations range roughly from 4,516 ft to 5,726 ft, and total elevation gain varies by distance, for example: the 15K shows about 689 ft gain, the half marathon about 1,119 ft, the marathon about 2,608 ft, the 50K about 2,644 ft, the 50 mile about 5,220 ft, and the 100K about 7,828 ft.
Aid stations are cup-less; runners must bring a reusable cup or hydration reservoir. Water dispensers are provided at the start/finish area and at every aid station for filling bladders, bottles, and reusable cups.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race and on race day at the start line near Behind the Rocks Trail. Participants have access to a free Mad Moose Base Camp for camping. All participants receive a custom race shirt, a custom BOCO hat, and a finisher medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
