Canyonlands Ultra
Canyonlands Ultra is a trail running event in Moab, Utah, scheduled for October 24, 2026. The event offers multiple race distances and is part of the Run Moab Series. Beginning in 2025 it becomes the kickoff to the Triple Crown of Moab series.
Distances include:
- 100K
- 50 Mile
- 50K
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 15K
The courses traverse desert terrain with sandy washes and technical double track. Runners pass views of the La Sals, sandstone domes, and expansive canyons. Course elevations range roughly from 4,518 ft to 5,726 ft, and total elevation gain reaches up to about 7,828 ft on the longest course. Course maps, GPX files, and a race guide are provided for each distance.
Aid stations include remote, water-only stations supported by vehicle transport. Those remote stations are self-serve; vehicle drivers are present for safety and logistics but are not race staff. The event is cup less, so runners should bring a reusable cup or container. Water dispensers are placed at the start/finish area and at every aid station.
Logistics information notes a packet pickup the day before and on race morning at the start area; entries are non-transferable and photo ID is required to receive a race packet. Mad Moose Base Camp offers free camping reserved for participants, family, and crew. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
