Event overview
Canyonlands Ultra is a trail running event in Moab, Utah, scheduled for October 24, 2026. It is part of the Run Moab Series organized by Mad Moose Events and is based at the Behind the Rocks trail area. The course goes through sandy washes and technical double track and offers views of the La Sals, sandstone domes, and surrounding canyons.

Course elevation details include a highest point of about 5,725 feet and lowest points around 4,518 feet, depending on the distance. Reported elevation gain figures include about 2,608 feet for the marathon, 2,644 feet for the 50K, 5,220 feet for the 50 Mile, and 7,828 feet for the 100K. The half marathon and 15K list smaller elevation gains of about 1,119 feet and 689 feet respectively.
Aid stations are cupless; runners are expected to bring a reusable cup or hydration vessel. Water dispensers will be available at every aid station for filling bladders and bottles. Participants and their family or crew may camp for free at the Mad Moose Base Camp, which is reserved for event participants and their guests.
The event offers charity bibs through Wander Project, with a featured partner of Friends of Arches and Canyonlands Parks and fundraising commitments that range from $500 to $5,000.
