Event overview
Arches Marathon and Half is a fall trail running event near Moab, Utah. Distances offered include 50K, marathon, half marathon, and 15K. The race starts and finishes at the same location near the Behind the Rocks Wilderness Study Area. Packet pickup takes place the day before and on race day at the start/finish area. Timing chips must be attached to shoes for official times. There is a controlled parking period on race morning when vehicles may not leave the parking area.
Course and logistics
The courses pass desert meadow trails, sandy double track, and jeep roads with views of the La Sal Mountains, Picture Frame Arch, red cliffs, and canyons. Aid stations are cupless: water dispensers are provided at the start/finish and at every aid station, so participants should bring a reusable cup, bottle, or bladder. Mad Moose Base Camp offers free camping exclusively for race participants and their family or crew at the event site. Dan Mick Jeep Tours provides logistical support for remote aid stations that require 4x4 access. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
