Arches Marathon and Half
Arches Marathon and Half is a fall trail running event in Moab, Utah, held around the Behind the Rocks Wilderness Study Area. The event offers multiple distances on desert trails that pass red cliffs, canyon overlooks, Picture Frame Arch, and views of the La Sal Mountains. The start and finish share the same location near the Behind the Rocks Trail.

Course statistics differ by distance. Examples from the published course data include the half marathon with a low point of 5,184 ft, a high point of 5,727 ft, about 1,178 ft of elevation gain and 1,214 ft of elevation loss; the marathon and 50K have higher total elevation changes and low points near 4,516 ft.
Aid stations are cup-less; runners are asked to carry a reusable cup. Water dispensers are provided at the start/finish and at every aid station for filling bladders, bottles, or cups. A published aid station chart includes mileage, cutoff times, and course limits.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the event and on race morning. Photo identification is required to receive a packet, entries are non-transferable, and runners may not pick up another runner’s bib.
