John Wayne Grit Series - Moab
The John Wayne Grit Series - Moab is a trail race set for September 26, 2026, in the Moab area. The event offers two distances: a Half Marathon and a 10K. Courses start approximately 20 miles outside Moab at the Hollywood Western Equestrian Trails in the Onion Creek trail area and include views of Castle Tower, Priests and Nuns, and Fisher Towers.
The event is cup less. Runners are asked to bring a hydration pack or handheld water bottle with a wide opening for volunteer refills; a complimentary Nathan water cup will be available at the expo or start area. Aid stations are provided as follows: the half marathon includes two full aid stations and one water drop, and the 10K includes one full aid station. Each finisher receives a shirt and a finisher mug at the finish line.
There is a race component with podium prizes. Three female and three male winners will be named for each course, for a total of 12 podium places and prizes. Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, September 25, 2026, at Homewood Suites in Moab, 132 N. Main Street, Moab, UT 84532. The event notes no pacing and no muling; violations will result in disqualification.
