US Road Running - Northlakes
The US Road Running event in Hickory, North Carolina, features a series of races held at Hickory City Park. This event offers two primary distances for participants to choose from:
- 5K
- Half Marathon
The event takes place on an out-and-back course. The 5K participants complete a 1.56-mile lap twice, while the Half Marathon participants complete a 2.18-mile out-and-back lap six times. The course has a total time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes for all events. All runners will receive a themed finisher medal upon completing their distance.
The registration and starting line are located north of the VFW, across the street from the corner of 16th Ave Pl NW and 12th St Dr NW. Parking and restroom facilities are available at the trailhead. This race is part of the US Road Running Race Series, allowing participants to earn points for their participation.
While wearing a costume is not a requirement, participants are encouraged to do so. A group photo is taken at the start of the event, and an award is presented for the best costume before the race begins. There is no on-site registration; all participants must register in advance through the online platform. Packet pickup is scheduled to take place at the race location shortly before the event starts.
