About the race
Lake Rhodhiss Trailfest takes place on October 10, 2026, in Valdese, NC at 1149 Lake Rhodhiss Drive. The event uses a looped course of about three miles that combines roughly two miles of natural trail and one mile of crushed cinder greenway.
The festival format for 2026 offers timed options so participants measure distance within a fixed time window rather than a fixed distance. The listed event options are:
- 12 hour timed event on a roughly 3 mile loop
- 6 hour timed event on a roughly 3 mile loop
- 3 hour timed event on a roughly 3 mile loop
Participants can focus on maximizing total miles or set an individual distance goal within the chosen time. The organizer notes an example where a six hour entrant could aim for a 50K by maintaining a steady pace, and a 12 hour entrant could combine running and hiking to reach a target distance.
Lake Rhodhiss Trailfest also serves as the kickoff event for the Great State Trail Day the following weekend.
