Burke Day For Life 5K and Fun Run
The Burke Day For Life is a community athletic event held in Morganton, North Carolina, benefiting the Pregnancy Care Center of Burke County. The event takes place during the autumn season in the North Carolina Foothills and serves as the beginning of a larger day-long celebration featuring music, food, and family activities.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K run or walk
- 1 Mile fun run or walk
The 5K course starts and finishes at Burkemont Baptist Church. The route travels through the countryside at the base of Burkemont Mountain and includes a section that passes through Double E Farms, a working farm featuring cattle, lambs, and seasonal crops like corn and pumpkins. Awards are presented to top finishers in various age groups for both male and female categories.
The 1 Mile Fun Run is designed as a loop course that also begins and ends at the church grounds. This shorter distance is open to participants of all ages.
Registered participants for both the 5K and the 1 Mile distance receive an event t-shirt, with sizes guaranteed for those who register by mid-September. Beyond the races, the event location hosts food trucks, live music, carnival games, and raffles. All proceeds generated from the registration fees support local community services.
