Event Overview
The US Road Running event in Hickory, North Carolina, is scheduled for August 1, 2026, at Hickory City Park. This event features two distinct distances for participants:
- 5K
- Half Marathon
Registration for all participants must be completed through the online portal, as there is no option for on-site registration on the day of the event. Packet pickup is conducted during a brief window prior to the start. The event has a total course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes.
Course Layout
Both distances utilize an out-and-back course structure within the park. The 5K participants follow a 0.78-mile out-and-back segment, repeating the loop twice to complete the distance. Those participating in the Half Marathon use a 1.09-mile out-and-back segment, which they complete six times.
Participant Amenities and Activities
All finishers are awarded a themed medal upon completion of their race. While dressing in costume is not required, participants are encouraged to do so. A group photo is taken at the start of each segment, and an award is presented for the best costume. This event is also part of the US Road Running Race Series, allowing participants to earn points toward the series rankings.
