Medal Madness 5K and Half Marathon, Hickory NC
Medal Madness is a road racing event in Hickory, North Carolina on 09/05/2026. The event offers two distances:
- 5K
- 13.1 Miles Half Marathon
Both courses use short out and back segments repeated to reach the advertised distances. The 5K uses a 1.56 mile out and back segment twice. The half marathon uses a 2.18 mile out and back segment six times. The overall course time limit is 3 hours and 30 minutes. All finishers receive a themed finisher medal.
Packet pickup opens 30 minutes before the race and closes 10 minutes before the race. All runners must register on RunSignup and there is no on site registration. Parking and restrooms are located at the Trailhead. Registration and the starting line are located north of the VFW, across the street from the corner of 16th Ave Pl NW and 12th St Dr NW.
Costumes are optional and a best costume award is presented at the start of each race. The event earns points toward the US Road Running Race Series and follows the series awards and information. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
