Southern Sundown 4 Miler
The Southern Sundown 4 Miler is an evening road event in Lenoir, North Carolina hosted by Liquid Roots Brewing Project at 1048 Harper Avenue NW. The main race takes place on 08/15/2026 and the event includes multiple youth races the same day.
Distances
- 4 Miles for the main event.
- 0.5 Miles Kids Fun Run for ages 12 and under, non timed.
- 1 Mile Whippersnapper Sprint for ages 12 and under.
The four mile course passes public art, runs through residential neighborhoods and by factories, and tours by five properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Packet pick up is available the day before and on race day at Liquid Roots Brewing Project. Every registered runner age 21 and over for the 4 Miler receives a full pour of a Liquid Roots brew after the race.
Registration details in the organizer information show the 4 Miler registration opens 04/01/2026 and closes 06/27/2026 with a listed fee of $35. The Kids Fun Run lists a $5 advance fee and $10 on race day; the Whippersnapper Sprint lists a $15 fee. The Kids Fun Run is non timed and participants receive a finishers medal and custom bib. The Whippersnapper Sprint awards trophies to the fastest male and female.
Awards and team competition are part of the event. Individual awards include overall, masters and age group prizes plus special course record bonuses. The Team Challenge requires 5 to 10 runners per team, at least one male and one female, uses the top five finisher times for team average, and applies 30 second deductions for specific roster criteria.
