Event Overview
The Medal Madness series takes place at Ed Austin Regional Park in Jacksonville, Florida. This event features three distinct distance options on a course composed of asphalt and concrete surfaces. The path is approximately 50% shaded, providing some cover from the sun.
The starting area is located next to the park's skatepark. For those driving to the venue, overflow parking is available in the rear section of the park near the soccer fields. Registration is required in advance as there is no option for on-site registration. Participants can pick up their race packets at the venue starting 30 minutes before the event begins.
Course Information
All distances are held on out-and-back routes. The specific requirements for each distance are as follows:
- 5K: This event requires completing the out-and-back course two times.
- 10K: This event requires completing the out-and-back course four times.
- Half Marathon: This event requires completing the out-and-back course six times.
The event has a total course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes. All finishers receive a medal upon completion. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes, and there is a recognized category for best costume. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
